I decided it was time to do some more exploring in the Hanlon Creek Headwaters area of Guelph - there are many unmarked trails, and I wanted to get a feel for where they all went!
Every time I have walked in this area, there have been many deer about!
First spring babies I've seen this year!

I took a quick walk on the Trans Canada Trail before headed back to Guelph, and found some more lifers
A first for me - Male Yellow Warbler
Another first for me - Eastern Kingbird
I headed back to Guelph, but decided to explore some of the trails in the Hanlon Creek Headwaters bush area.
There were many deer in the area!
Not a lifer, but since I started recording my data - this male Northern Cardinal is a first
First Red-backed salamander of the year!

The Trans Canada Trail runs close to my parent's place in Cookstown, and when I visit, I'll often walk along the trail with my dog.
This is a male Rose Breasted Grosbeak - unfortunately he wouldn't turn around to get a good shot of the breast colouration!
Got this Blue Jay right after he was bathing in a stream
You know spring must be here when the tent caterpillars show up!

The Trans Canada Trail follows a stream for a short while north of Cookstown, and beavers will often dam it up. There was a M/F Mallard duck pair sleeping on top of the dam when I went by.
